Taiwan has inherited millennia-old arts. We are fortunate to have a great number of artisans who will take both pleasure and duty in sharing their practice and their worldview with you.
Calligraphy and Chinese ink drawing, umbrella making or drum crafting, tea cultivation or advocates of aboriginal arts, lion dancers and master builders… all seek fulfillment through an approach that lies halfway between religion and philosophy.
Spirituality
In a highly technological country, one might think that traditions or religion would quickly fade away.
That is not the case at all — quite the opposite!
The island abounds with festivals, and the streets teem with processions. Lion dance in front of a temple, a deity’s pilgrimage on the backs of carriers, dragon dance in a narrow alley, religious trance, or walking on burning embers? These rites, whose origin has almost been lost, are a small glimpse of traditional expression!
